Helsinki hosted the largest gender equality forum ever held, which is the closing event of the one-year #NewLeaders program for leadership and promotion of equality in the sports sector. International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, as well as many other presidents and chairmen of national Olympic committees and federations, are public advocates of greater representation of women in leadership positions and equal opportunities for all involved in the sports sector.
