Play2Employ – Building Youth Skills Through Play
Within the Play2Employ project, sport was applied as an innovative and interactive approach to non-formal learning, personal development, and the enhancement of young people’s key skills, with a focus on their readiness for further education and entry into the labour market.
Throughout its 15-month implementation, the Play2Employ project achieved significant results and contributed to strengthening the capacities of young people, educators, and the institutions involved:
791 young people directly engaged
15 municipalities across 4 countries
40 local educators trained to apply the methodology
12 regional trainers initially trained
26 institutions involved in the project network
The results demonstrated clear progress among young people in communication, teamwork, respecting different opinions, problem-solving, using digital tools, preparing CVs, and writing professional emails.
We are especially proud that the sport games were recognized as fun, educational, and relevant for young people, while educators assessed the methodology as easy to apply in practice.
Play2Employ showed that through play, teamwork, and non-formal education, young people can develop practical skills, confidence, and stronger readiness for the future.
Play2Employ is part of the BOOST Balkans programme, an initiative funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement and led by ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy, aimed at strengthening civil society across the Western Balkans
